BLAST OF SILENCE 1961 (CRITERION)

One of the absolute best film noirs ever made!! This ultra low budget tale about a hitman named Frankie from Cleveland comes to New York during Christmastime to kill a man.
This powerful story is about a man having second thoughts on the job he must do and the ultimate price he must pay after completeing it.
Allen Baron directed and stars in this film which was distributed by Universal and then forgotten by many people until Criterion brought it back to the public attention it deserves. The poetic narration thru the film is performed by the one and only Lionel Stander.
This is a dark film, make no mistake about it as Frankie completes his job, but at a terrible cost to himself. Contemporary Hollywood could learn a lesson from films like this as this is compelling story telling with a minimal of budget.
If you haven't seen this film, by all means do!! Highest Recommendation.
