BIG BIRD CAGE 1975 (SHOUT FACTORY)

This is part of the three film set from the Roger Corman Cult Classics Collection from Shout Factory and what a treat it is. New World Pictures released this gem in 1975 and it stars Pam Grier as a woman set to a prison in a banana republic. She is actually a freedom fighter who is going to liberate the women and her plan is slowly put into motion.
Gorgeous Anitra Ford is a prisoner there as well as Carol Speed and Vic Diaz is the gay prison guard. We mustn't forget Sid Haig as Django who is Pam's lover when not helping her cause. After a lot of the usual torture and humiliation the women revolt and burn the prison to the ground in a series of explosions and flying bullets.
Vic Diaz meets a death you gotta see to believe and it is sad when Haig and Grier are killed, as they were very likeable characters. Ford manages to escape all the way and promises to be back to help the oppressed people.
Filmed in the Philippines in 1975, this is an excellent of the WIP genre. There are plenty of gorgeous women to view and lots of action  and even some comedy moments that are unexpected, but welcome.
Ford was a Price Is Right model and the only reason I ever watched the show when I was young, and man does she look good here.
Highly recommended set of three movies on two discs. I will be reviewing the others here shortly.
