During the 1960's the BBC ran many interesting programs that they in turn destroyed the tapes to and many of those shows are lost forever. This is a collection of the only remaining 5 episodes of the Sherlock Holmes TV show starring Peter Cushing as the famous detective. The set includes the two paert episode Hound Of The Baskervilles as well as A Study In Scarlett, The Bascombe Valley Mystery, Sign of The Four and The Blue Carbuncle, all of which are classic stories.
The three disc set also contains an A&E special on the history of Sherlock Holmes. Any mystery fan will love this set and it is well priced forsuch a rare collectors set.
Cushing is always excellent and this is no exception. He played Holmes in the Hammer version of Hound Of The Baskervilles just five years before this show went on the air, so he had that under his belt, and he does a smashing job.
