SALEM'S LOT 1979 ( WARNER BROTHERS)

One of the best adaptations of a Stephen King book ever put on film. This three hour film centers around a small new England town that is invavded by a very evil vampire. David Soul is the young writer who comes back to his hometown of Salem's Lot and finds an evil slowly taking over the people.
There are some genuinely eerie moments in this film and it will hold your attention all the way thru. The great cast includes James Mason as the vampire's human helper, Lew Ayres, Marie Windsor, Elisha Cook, Jr., Lance Kerwin, Bonnie Bedelia and Geoffrey Lewis.
I highly recommend this much more than the ill advised remake from 2004, and it is nice to see evil vampires, not the teen angst ones we seem to have on film as of late.
