31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN DAY 4: WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH 1970 (WARNER)

Jim Danforth effects were nominated for an Oscar in this 1970 Hammer film about a prehistoric tribe that sacrifices blonde women and fights for survival against giant monsters.

This was Hammer's follow up to One Million Years B.C. and the monsters aren't the only standout. You have some of the sexiest cave women ever played by Magda Konopka, Imogene Hassall and the leading lady is the very, very sexy Victoria Vetri. The dialogue is only grunts and groans and some made up talk, but that is fine.

When this was released on DVD in 2008 it was discovered that Warner had released the entire unedited 100 min. British print that featured nudity. One cavewoman has her top ripped off by a caveman and there are a few shots of sexy Victoria totally naked as well, and of that I will not complain, but oh my god what an uproar it caused.

We Americans are way too uptight about that kind of thing, but they did recall it and reissue a "clean" version. I own the former, thank god. All in all a highly recommended piece of fantasy for monster lovers and viewers who don't mind attractive cavewomen in their prehistoric films.
