SUDDEN IMPACT 1983 (WARNERS)

The fourth, and one of the best of the Dirty Harry series.

A rape victim is killing those who assaulted her. Sondra Locke plays the role perfectly, and I forgot how beautiful she really was in this film until I saw it again recently.

Callahan is assigned to the case as she is always one step ahead of him thanks to a useless sheriff in the small California which Harry is in to investigate. Pat Hingle plays the sheriff.

Bradford Dillman and Paul Drake round out the cast. The title song is sung by Roberta Flack and I admit I like it a lot. This is a well rounded thriller with Callahan looking tired in some scenes and his character and the rape victim do just what I think they should do at the end of this film. No spoilers here, sorry.
