DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN 1971 (SHRIEK SHOW)

The all time Al Adamson classic.

An all star cast appears in this drive in classic about Count Dracula enlisting the help of the last of the Frankenstein line in bringing the monster back to life and taking over the world. The plot is rather a mess as this was shot over a number of years and yet it somehow all makes sense.

J. Carroll Naish is Dr. Duryea (Frankenstein) and Lon Chaney is his mute servant Grotan, who decapitates young women so the oc can fix them up again. Zandor Vorkoff is Dracula and they gave him a cool echo voice on the soundtrack. Russ Tamblyn, is a biker, Jim avis is the Sheriff investigating all the missing persons reports and the best part to me is Regina Carrol, who is looking for her missing sister.

Carrol was the wife of Adamson and she never looked better than in this film. Anthony Eisley is the man who helps her and I must admit, his death in the film came as a total surprise. I highly recommend this film and there are just too many plot points to cover in a small capsule review as mine is, but if you like movies of this kind then see it by all means.

This was released with no fanfare at all, but it is an excellent print in widescreen and it has never looked better.
