RIP JESS FRANCO 1930-2013

A true legend of film making is gone, as well as another huge chunk of my film loving life.

The horror genre has lost one of it's most prolific and well known people. Spanish director Jess Franco passed away at the age of 82. If you read this blog then you know how much I love most of Franco's movies. Yes he made some stinkers, but the majority of movies he made in the 60's and 70's are some of my favorite films ever.

Franco was an actor and musician as well as director and film editor and writer. I have some of his music and it is wonderful. Franco helped shape my movie loving life with such gems as "Awful Dr. Orloff", "Diabolical Dr. Z", "Barbed Wire Dolls", "Blood Of Fu Manchu", "Faceless" and hundreds more.

Franco helped shape the genre into what it is and his very long legacy will always be here for us to enjoy. Have a good rest sir, you deserve it.
