SERPENT ISLAND 1954 (VCI)

The first film Bert I. Gordon was involved with.

Sonny Tufts stars in this film about a young woman on a cruise to find a hidden treasure that she claims her family has the rights to. She hires Tufts and another man played by Tom Monroe to help her find it.

They sail to an island near Haiti and fin the treasure guarded by a voodoo cult and boa constrictors. There is not a lot of action but the film does have it's own mind of charm and the only "name" in the cast is Sonny Tufts. Bert Gordon produced this film and it started him on his long career.

VCI has done a good job with finally bringing this long lost gem to DVD and it is a welcome addition to my bad film library.
