THE GORGON 1964 (COLUMBIA)

Hammer horror with Cushing and Lee.

In the early 20th century a Gorgon takes human form and begins turning the citizens of a small town to stone. Peter Cushing is Dr. Namaroff who resides in the small town in an un-named communist country where several people have died by turning to stone.

Christopher Lee is gruff as Prof. Karl Meister who believes the Gorgon exists. He leaves no stone unturned when trying to discover where it is and has to step on several toes to do it, including those of Police Inspector Kanof, played wonderfully by Patrick Troughton.

Gorgeous Barbara Shelley is Carla Hoffman, the assistant to Cushing who has a secret or two she doesn't want revealed, but damn she looks so hot in every shot. Terence Fisher directed this gem which is actually one of the best of Hammer's long line of films.
