THE LOST WORLD 1925 (FOX)

The silent classic is restored.

This is the fist film version of the great novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle about Prof. Challenger finding a plateau where dinosaurs still roam, and his efforts to get a second expedition to it so he can capture one.

The expedition is put together and soon they are off again. The dino footage is very, very good and I like the use of colors in this restored print from the Eastman House. This version looks far better than other versions I have seen and there are many new scenes that were totally new to me.

The running time varies from what many have said, but I was still satisfied with what Fox has given us. This is included with the Irwin Allen remake of 1960, which will be review here at a later date. Recommended viewing.
