PRETTY BOY FLOYD 1960 (CLASSIC MEDIA)

Well done gangster film.

John Ericson stars as "Pretty Boy" Floyd who starts out as a small time crook and soon becomes Public Enemy Number One. As with all of these kinds of films, liberties are taken with the facts, but Ericson does well with the job of playing Floyd.

This is the film debut of Barry Newman who went on to star in "Vanishing Point" and the TV show "Petrocelli", and Al Lewis who went onto great fame as "Grampa Munster". His role is unforgettable as the "tough" gangster who breaks down and is killed by the Mafia.

The film is a little overlong at 99 minutes, but it will hold your attention. Beautiful Joan Harvey is good as Lil Courtney and the rest of the cast is rounded out by Jason Evers as a sheriff, Peter Falk as a gangster and Norman Burton as a two timing crook who gets his comeuppance.
