THE UNSEEN 1980 (SCORPION)

A very disturbing film...

A trio of female reporters goes to a small California town to report on a celebration and find all the hotels in town full so they accept an invitation from a man to stay at his old house along with himself and his sister. They accept, an that is when the terror begins.

It seems that a mysterious "being" is living in the basement and begins stalking the women and accidentally killing them. Sydney Lassick is perfect in the role of Ernest Keller, the slightly bizarre owner of the house and Lelia Goldoni is his long suffering sister.

Gorgeous Barbara Bach is Jennifer Fast, the lead reporter and Karen Lamm is her sister, Karen. Lois Young is Vicki, the third woman and incidentally the first victim to be killed by the "Unseen". Bach is really put thru the paces in this film and she does an excellent job.

This is one sick plot when it all falls into place. You have incest, dead corpses around the house and a "being" living in the basement that should have never been allowed to live under such circumstances. I won't say much more than that because I don't want to spoil a first time view. It's a good bet for horror fans and I cannot help but wonder why director Dan Steinmann was disappointed enough to take his name off of the credits. He did a fine job.

The blu-ray is hosted by lovely Katarina Waters, and she is always a joy to see no matter what. The disc also has several commentaries and interviews including one with Stephen Furst who plays the "Unseen". This film sat on the shelf for over a year until finally released in September 1981. Recommended!!
