MAD LOVE 1935 (WARNER)

A great performance from Peter Lorre.

Lorre stars as a mad surgeon named Gogol, who has an obsession with a young actress played by Frances Drake. Her husband, a pianist named Stephen Orlac is injured in an accident and his hands are destroyed. Gogol transplants the hands of a killer onto Orlac's body.

Orlac, played by Colin Clive soon comes to believe that his hands are forcing him to commit murder, much to the delight of Gogol. Frances Drake looks as lovely as ever in the role of Yvonne Orlac.

Lorre has never appeared more insane except possibly in the German film "M". This is an excellent film full of striking imagery thanks to director Karl Freund and shouldn't be missed by any horror fan. Recommended!!
