MASK OF FU MANCHU 1932 (WARNER)

An exceptionally sadistic film.

Boris Karloff stars as Fu Manchu, who is looking the for the mask and sword of Ghengis Kahn, and if he gets his hands on it, he will try and conquer the world. Also looking for these treasures is a small group of Englishmen.

Karloff is very good in the role of the oriental mastermind and Myrna Loy as Fah Lo See is a standout. She really enjoys torture and loves watching it inflicted. This was made before the codes were set up in Hollywood to stop showing certain things in movies.

This is a great "yellow peril" film that is much like a pulp comic book of the day. It has over the top characters, great torture devices and a plot that races like the wind to a bizarre climax. I would recommend this to and horror fan and any Karloff.
