TATTOOED STRANGER 1950 (WARNER ARCHIVE)

Great, neglected film noir.

Modern police work and technology is used to determine who the unknown woman is whose body is found in an abandoned car. The only clues police have are the tattoo on the woman's body and a small piece of grass found at the murder scene.

This is a tight knit drama without a cast of famous people except for Patricia Barry (credited here as Patricia White). It is much like a documentary and focuses on police legwork and science, not anything else.

If you like police dramas like they used to run in TV then this is your cup of tea. This is textbook police procedure and it was directed by Edward J. Montagne who also produced the "Man Against Crime" TV series. Recommended!!
