HORROR OF THE BLOOD MONSTERS 1970 (ALPHA)

What can I say but "wow".

Al Adamson strikes again with this mish mash, but highly entertaining sci-fi extravaganza. It seems that a vampire plague is spreading around the world and a team of scientists journey to a distant planet to find the source and to stop it.

John Carradine heads the expedition and they land on a weird planet that is forever changing color due to what is called "chromatic radiation". There they find batmen, claw monsters, vampires and many other bizarre life forms. This footage was taken from a Filipino horror film that was in black and white, so Adamson used the radiation theme to add color.

The monsters are pretty cool looking and I enjoyed this film, but the ending completely negates the beginning and it ends up making no sense at all, but what can you expect from a film that was shot and put together over a number of years.

The rest of the cast includes Robert Dix, Vicki Volante, Jennifer Bishop and believe it or not Fred Meyers. Anyway, if you like over the top bizarre films, then this is for you. I love it and it is my second favorite Adamson film next to "Blood Of Dracula's Castle".
