MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND 1968 (ALPHA)

One of the all time classics!

John Ashley returns to Blood Island with the very sexy Angelique Pettyjohn and he finds the natives being torn apart by a mysterious killer.

The murders continue to pile up until it's discovered that a hideous chlorophyll monster is running loose. It is the result of an experiment of a mad doctor named Lorca who has been experimenting on natives for some time.

This is a super fun film and a joy to watch. The only down part is the maddening zoom lens effect every time the monster shows up. There is a lot of gore for a film from 1968, but that is what makes this so memorable...well that and Pettyjohn running around in extremely skimpy nightgowns.

This is the second of three films about Blood Island and it is the one people remember most because of the monster and the cast. The ending is left open so a sequel could be made, and it was. Ronald Remy does a very good job as Lorca, the mad scientist who creates monsters and Eddie Romero, who directed this film, his most well remembered, does a hell of a job. Highly recommended for horror fans.
