AUTOPSY OF A GHOST 1968 (SINISTER CINEMA)

A very strange film I have mixed feelings about.

When I first saw this film I liked it a lot, and that was about 15 years ago. I watched it again recently and realized it runs about 25 minutes too long.

Basil Rathbone is a ghost who is condemned to a basement in an old mansion along with a talking skeleton until he can make a mortal fall in love with him. John Carradine is the Devil who makes it very hard for Rathbone to complete his task.

Cameron Mitchell is also on hand as a crazy inventor who has invented a Robot protector for his daughter. This is all very bizarre stuff and the comedy is strained to say the least. It is an oddity and it does have it's moments, especially the strange and unique opening credits sequence.

The standout inthe entire movie belongs to, in my opinion, the luscious Amadee Chabot, who is a helper of Mitchell's and who only wears a bikini at all times. She will always keep your attention. her career was on odd one...she was Miss California in 1964 and really didn't do too much, but then headed to Mexico where she made 24 films in just three years and then again disappeared from the entertainment scene. She is a real estate agent at this time.

Anyway, if you like oddities in Spanish cinema, then this is one you might like. I enjoyed it, but damn the 105 minute running time just is too much for a film like this.
