DEMON OF PARADISE 1987 (SHOUT FACTORY)

I decided to revisit another film I reviewed here a few years ago.

This film is very obscure even though it has been released on DVD, most people still don't know about it. Shot in the beautiful Philippines, this story concerns an ancient monster that is awakened from it's slumber by fishermen using dynamite.

The monster is pretty cool looking and it's one of the last movies, sadly, to feature a man in a suit monster. Roger Corman's New Concorde distributed this film and it is very well directed by Cirio Santiago. The cast includes Kathryn Witt as Annie, the female scientist who joins forces with the local Sheriff played by William Steis to stop the monster.

I don't care what anyone says, this is a fun film and deserves more exposure than it usually gets. If you happen to find it on DVD, I would recommend watching it.
