END OF THE WORLD 1977 (SINISTER CINEMA)

I am re-visiting this very odd film.

This Irwin Yablans film opens with a Priest, played by Christopher Lee going into a diner and wanting to call the police. All hell breaks loose and the owner of the diner is killed, then the titles come up.

So begins this incredible tale. A young man working in a science lab discovers strange messages coming from a certain location. He and his wife investigate and find that the signals are coming from a convent run by Father Pergado (Lee) and six nuns.

After much investigation the couple is held captive at the convent. It turns out that aliens have taken it over, and despite what you may have read in other places, it is not for world conquest.

The ending of this film is rather interesting as the young couple join the aliens thru a dimensional doorway and enter the alien world just as theirs is about to end.

This isn't anything but a fun film, if an odd one. I remember seeing the adds for this in the paper and never got a chance to see this until the Sinister disc came out. The rest of the cast includes Kirk Scott, Sue Lyon, Dean Jagger, Lew Ayres and MacDonald Carey. I would recommend giving this a look.
