THE BRAINIAC 1961 (CASA NEGRA)

An all time classic of Mexican Cinema.

Truly a one of a kind film. Abel Salazar stars as Baron Vitelius Of Astara, a man burned at the stake in 1661 by the Holy Inquisition of Mexico. He levels a curse at the men responsible. The curse says he will come back when a certain comet appears in the sky, and revenge will be taken on all of the relatives of the men.

We move ahead 300 years to 1961 and a comet falls to earth and our Baron returns as a strange brain sucking monsters with a huge monstrous face, suckers for hands and a very long tongue to suck out the brains with. He sets up shop and invites a lot pof people to a reception so he can check out his intended victims.

The people die one by one and the police are baffled. Will the baron complete his revenge?? Check out this one of a kind movie and find out. The second best Mexican horror film ever made.

What really sets this movie apart is how cheap it is. None of the "outdoor" scenes take place outdoors. They are usually on a set with a completely black background or against a superimposed back drop. It simply adds to the bizarreness of the film. Salazar is perfect as the Baron and it's always good to see the very sexy Ariadna Welter.

if you've never seen mexican horror i would start with this one. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
