HALLOWEEN FRIGHTS DAY 5...FORTRESS OF THE DEAD 1965 (SINISTER CINEMA)

Obscure but very well made horror tale.

This odd little film was made in the Philippines and stars John Hackett as a man who survived a brutal attack of his infantry troop on Corregidor while all of his comrades were killed. He somehow feels he should have been killed with them.

This is a real low budget, no name film, but don't let that deter you. There are some very haunting moments which make the viewer sit up and take notice.

The ending is a shocker and will send a chill up your spine. The cast does a very good job with the material and director Ferde Grofe, Jr. handles everything very well.

There are two very chilling moments I should mention. One is when our hero is in the dark underground tunnels where his gun battery was killed, and the other is a scene where ominous sounds are heard coming from the ground.

This is top ghost story material done with a low budget and solid cast. Sinister Cinema presents this film, and my hats off to their good quality of this film. Recommended!!
