NIGHT OF THE BLOODY APES 1969 (BCI)

One hell of a wild ride.

Director Rene Cardona remade the classic "Doctor of Doom", but spiced it up with gore and some nudity.

A doctor attempts to cure his ailing son of a deadly leukemia by transplanting the heart of a gorilla into his body. The result is an ape creature that rapes and kills women and tears men apart.

There is also a sub plot about a female wrestler and her detective boyfriend who are investigating the murders. It took me a long time to finally watch this film, and believe it or not I was not disappointed.

The graphic footage of open heart surgery is an eye opener as well as the scene where the monster pops out the eyes of one of it's victims. It's hard to watch sometimes, but I admit it was fun.

This film is a classic of over the top Mexican cinema and really should be seen to be believed.
