CREATION OF THE HUMANOIDS 1962 (DARK SKY)

A very maligned film that really deserves a second look.

90% of mankind has been wiped out after a nuclear war and the surviving humans have built robots to help the humans survive. This being done, after several years it seems that the robots are trying to take over and a small band of humans is trying to prevent it.

Yes, this is a very slow film that has almost no action and is overly talky, but it does make some very interesting points about racial prejudice, marriage and the very creation of man himself. The sets are very avant-garde and the interesting colored lighting adds a very odd look to the proceedings.

This has always been one of my favorite films, and to be honest I still cannot figure out why unless it's for all the reasons listed above. The Dark Sky DVD is beautiful and the film has never looked better.

The cast includes Don Megowan and Dudley Manlove, Eric Elliot and Don Doolittle. If you haven't seen this yet, I suggest you give it a try and watch it to the end and see a very bizarre twist.
