A black family moves to a bigoted neighborhood and so the scientist father creates a formula which gives a black man superhuman powers.
Abar uses his mental powers to actually change things such as a group of prostitutes and pimps suddenly become college graduates!! There is a classic scene where a crooked politician is eating dinner with his friends and suddenly the food turns to worms!!! Just crazy shit.
The movie is definitely one of a kind and does have it's share of shocking moments, such as a little boy being run down an killed by a racist motorist whom he catches planting a bomb. I have actually never heard of this film until I saw it on TCM a few weeks ago.
It they run it again, I would suggest you check it out and see what the "first black science fiction film" is really like.
