FAST AND THE FURIOUS 1955 (POP FLIX)

The second film that Roger Corman produced.

This is a fun little film starring John Ireland as man wrongly convicted of murder who escapes and tries to flee to Mexico. He ends up in a fight with a man at a small diner and then flees when he thinks he has killed the man. He takes a young woman hostage and the chase is on.

Bruno VeSota plays the man in the diner and Dorothy Malone is the gorgeous woman Ireland kidnaps. This is not really a film noir, but it is a great little action film and both leads are excellent. This film is available from literally hundreds of companies and this is one of the better prints I have seen.

Ireland co-directed this film with Edwards Sampson and this started the long line of films from American International, the company that formed my entire childhood. If you haven't seen this yet, I suggest you do.
