ALICE, OR THE LAST ESCAPADE 1977 (SINISTER CINEMA)

One of the best releases of the year from Sinister Cinema.

Sylvia Kristel stars as a young woman who leaves her husband one rainy night after telling him that she does not love him and cannot stand him anymore.

On her drive her windshield suddenly breaks and she is forced to find shelter at a mysterious mansion. In it lives an elderly gentleman and his butler. They make he comfortable and are very kind. When she wakes up in the morning, nobody is around.

She tries to leave the estate but every road leads right back to the manor. She meets some very odd people who say things to her that make no sense.

Once she manages to leave the manor she goes to an even more bizarre diner, and shortly thereafter things become much clearer to her.

I won't give away the fantastic ending, but this film really needs to be seen to be believed! It's in French, but has English subtitles.

I was blown away by this film and it reminds me of a cross between "Carnival Of Souls" and a "Twilight Zone" episode. The print is excellent and I cannot recommend this enough. SEE IT!!
