MY FAVORITE SPY 1951 (DVD-R)

Fun Bob Hope comedy.

Hope stars as a Burlesque comic named Peanuts White who just happens to be a dead ringer for a spy named Eric Augustine.

When Augustine is shot and put out of commission for a while the US Government hires peanuts to take his place, and that is where the fun starts.

Peanuts is sent to Tangier on a mission to get a million dollars of secret micro film. While bumbling his way through the mission he meets a gorgeous woman named Lily Dalbray, played by the incredibly sexy Hedy Lamarr.

One mis-adventure piles on top of another until the slapstick ending which still works very well today. Lamarr is perfect for the comedy adventures of Hope and the two work very, very well together.

I have always liked ob Hope comedies, and this one ranks very high. The supporting cast includes Arnold Moss, Morris Ankrum, John Archer, Luis Van Rooten, Frank Faylen, Mike Mazurki and Marc Lawrence.

If you like this kind of comedy, I highly recommend this movie.
