TOXIC ZOMBIES 1980 (SUBSTANCE)

The late Chuck McCrann directed this interesting horror cheapie.

A group of marijuana growers are contaminated with a strange drug that is sprayed on their crop by the US Government.

It doesn't take long before these people are changed into blood drinking maniacs who then proceed to slaughter anyone they meet. There are some rather interesting scenes in this film and the make-up for the killers is pretty good as well.

McCrann also stars in the film as the a government man on vacation who gets caught up in this terror as well as his wife and two children they find wandering in the woods after their parents have been killed.

It's a fast moving little film and I wish it was more well known than it is. John Amplas who starred in George Romero's "Martin" has a role as a government agent who meets a grisly end. McCrann was killed in the 9/11/2001 Twin Towers attack, and while this is his only film, it's a good one.
