STREETS OF GHOST TOWN 1950 (MILL CREEK)

Another fine Columbia Films Durango Kid western that also has faint notes of horror to it.

Charles Starrett is back again as Steve/The Durango Kid. In this fun outing Steve, a local sheriff and Steve's friend Smiley come to a ghost town looking for missing gold.

The main story is told in flashback about how a man named Bill Donner double crossed his partners in order to keep all the gold for himself. Donner is now blind and in jail, but still refuses to tell where he hid the gold.

The old abandoned town is said to be haunted, but Durango thinks this is a ploy by Donner to keep people away. Again, this is a short but fun little western in the long running series and I enjoyed it a lot.

What I like best I guess is that the plots are simple and straight forward. This film is included in the "Durango Kid Collection" from Mill Creek, and the prints all look very, very good from the Columbia vaults. Recommended!!
