BATTLE OF ROGUE RIVER 1954 (MILL CREEK)

George Montgomery returns in another Bill Castle western.

Montgomery stars as Major Frank Archer, a young man sent to an Army outpost in Oregon where the Indians, led by Chief Mike (Michael Granger) have been defeating the Army for years.

At first his orders are to defeat the Indians at all costs, but the orders are changed and he has to make peace with them, which he is very willing to do.

However, there are some people who want to keep the Indian wars going on so that Oregon does not become a state. Of all the wonderful characters in this fast paced film, Richard Denning's portrayal of Stacy Wyatt is by far the best. His character is at first very likable until his hidden agenda is revealed.

The rest of this wonderful cast includes Martha Hyer, John Crawford, Emory Parnell and Steve Ritch. This is a fun and very interesting western and as usual Castle pulls it all off very well. Quality from Mill Creek is excellent and this film should be a welcome addition to your western DVD library.
