THE REDEEMER 1978 (CODE RED) BLU-RAY

Wow, what a film. I reviewed this a long time ago and it's time for a new look as the film is available on Blue-ray now.

This is one weird ass film, and I love it. This bizarre film starts off with a child rising out of a lake and then apparently entering the home of a minister and possessing him. How do we know this? It turns out the the one possessed has two thumbs on one hand! What this really has to do with anything is beyond me.

Then we are introduced to six people of various backgrounds who are all invited to a class reunion. Once gathered there they find they are locked in and soon are being killed in graphic ways one by one.

The main part of the story is by no means original, but the deaths are interesting and the child and possessed minister add some twisted flavor, but as I said, I don't know what they really had to do with the story.

The trapped people are killed for their "sinful" lives and in the end "The Redeemer" returns back to the lake, waiting to rise again. Look, if you want to see something bizarre and unforgettable you gotta check this out.

The print from Code Red is as expected and as I have said many times before, it add to the "drive-in" experience when the film is somewhat worn and a few scratches now and then.
