INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN 1963 (DARK SKY)

Oh my, what a movie.

Sonny Chiba is "Space Chief" who flies in a space car and protects the Earth from invaders.

In this film he is protecting the Earth from slow moving invaders from the planet Neptune. I once heard these invaders referred to as "hostile pipe welders" and that has stuck with me ever since.

Space Chief is also aided by six Japanese children who at times are very annoying. The last 3rd of the film is mostly stock footage of mass destruction as the people of Neptune show that they don't play games. One scene I had to actually watch twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things is when the aliens destroy a building with a huge picture of Hitler in front of it.

The print Dark Sky used for their DVD release 12 years ago is beautiful. I doubt this will ever see another release and so this is as good as it will ever get. This is offered on a double feature disc with another gem entitled "Prince Of Space" which I have written about here almost 5 years ago I believe.

If you're so inclined, you might want to check this out and see what a trip it really is.
