SUPERARGO AND THE FACELESS GIANTS 1967 (SINISTER CINEMA)

It's been six years since I reviewed this film, and it's just as good as the last time I saw it.

This is a bizarre film. Giovanni Cianfriglia stars as a wrestling superhero called "Superargo" who is called in by the government to fight a mad doctor and his army of robots.

These robots aren't giants, they are average size but they are being used to rob banks and kidnap athletes from around Europe. After many attempts to stop them fail, Superargo is called in as well as a mystic swami named Kamir (Aldo Sambrell) who has taught Superargo many new tricks.

The investigation discovers that a mad doctor named Wendland Wond (Guy Madison) has created the robots in an attempt to rule the world. His beautiful assistant, Gloria (Diana Lorys) helps him in his plans, but does have a soft spot for Superargo.

Luisa Baratto also stars as Clair Brand, who is Superargo's sweetheart, and when she is captured things really start to move. This movie is nothing but comic book fun and in my opinon better than any of the current crop of super hero films from Marvel.

The action is really non-stop and I can't see anyone not watching this one and having fun. The print from Sinister is no better or worse than some others out there, but I do wish it was in proper scope, but beggars can't be choosers.

A highly recommended film that offers nothing but a good time.
