GUNFIGHTERS OF ABILENE 1960 (AMAZON PRIME)

Buster Crabbe stars in the Edward L. Cahn western.

Crabbe stars as Kip Tanner a gunman who arrives in Abilene after getting a letter from his brother to come and help him out of a jam.

Tanner arrives, but too late to save his brother who has already been lynched. Tanner sets out to find his brother's killer and soon finds out his brother was accused of stealing $64,000 dollars.

Kip finds himself falling for a young woman named Alice Hainline (Rachel Ames) when he discovers that her father, Seth (Barton MacLane) might be the person he is looking for in connection with his siblings death.

I believe that was Crabbe's last starring role in a feature film and while I enjoyed this movie, I do have to admit it falls a little flat at times. MacLane is always excellent as a heel, and this performance is no different.

Of all the Edward L. Cahn westerns I have seen, this is admittedly the weakest. Still, if you have nothing to do on a rainy Saturday this will fill the bill.

The rest of the cast includes Richard Devon, Russell Thorson, Richard Cutting and Lee Farr.
