PIER 5 HAVANA 1959 (AMAZON PRIME)

Another great Edward L. Cahn film. I love this one and have watched it many times.

Cameron Mitchell stars as Steve Daggett, an American who travels to Cuba right after the overthrow of the government by Fidel Castro in order to find his missing friend.

Upon arriving in Cuba he is taken to the police station by Lt. Garcia (Michael Granger) and questioned. Steve gets even more suspicious that something odd is going on and he ends up meeting a beautiful woman named Monica Gray (Allison Hayes) who was involved with Steve's friend.

After getting beat up and left for dead Steve realizes he needs help getting the info he needs. He soon uncovers a plot by Batista's sympathizers to overthrow Castro.

This puts his life as well as Monica's in danger as the agents will stop at nothing to bomb Hanava. There is plenty of gun play and fistfights in this little action drama that never fails to entertain.

Cahn keeps things moving and has a great cast behind him. The rest of the cast includes Nestor Paiva, Otto Waldis and Logan Field. This is a somewhat rare film that doesn't get a lot of play and I do wish this and many other of Cahn's films would be turned out on a Blu-ray set. I know it will never happen, but I can dream can't I?

Allison Hayes is simply stunning in this film.
