THE DESERT WARRIOR 1961 (SINISTER CINEMA)

Interesting Sword and Sandal epic starring Ricardo Montalban.

Montalban is Prince Said, a young man who is thought to be dead by a man who killed his father and took over his father's throne.

Said becomes a desert bandit and thief in an attempt to regain his father's throne. During the process he meets and falls in love with a young woman named Amina (Carmen Sevilla) who is a princess and happens to be the daughter of Ibrahim (Gino Cervi), the man who killed Said's father.

Ibrahim is obsessed with killing Said when he discovers that he is still alive and will stop at nothing to get the job done.

There is plenty of action in this film, but I do with the print of the film was uncut and in widescreen. The image is cropped quite a bit, but still very watchable. When I say uncut, I am referring to the torture scene that was cut out of the US print back in the day.

However, this is an entertaining film and well worth seeing. Montalban's voice was dubbed over by someone else and that is a little bizarre in and of itself.
