Steve Holland stars as Flash Gordon in this sci-fi kiddie show that ran for a year. There are 31 episodes and it seems about 13 of them have fallen into the public domain.

This episode is the very first one that was aired.Dr. Zarkov (Joe Nash) wants to test an anti-gravity device on a remote planet, but is denied because of many strange deaths on that very planet.

Flash and his crew must investigate. This is very simple stuff, but fun if you're in the right frame of mind, which I was indeed. This is a bizarre looking series that, from what I am able to figure out was a co-production of the US, West Germany and France.

It originally aired on the Dumont Network, and is almost a forgotten slice of early 50's pop culture.
