CURSE OF THE SWAMP CREATURE 1966 (REEL VAULT)

This is actually the best looking print of this Larry Buchanan film I have ever seen.

For years I have had a bootleg DVD I made from an old Sinister Cinema tape from back in the 80's. But this DVD will easily replace that one.

I am sure all of you are familiar with the works of Texas legend Buchanan and already know this is a remake for TV of the 1957 AIP film VOODOO WOMAN.

Jeff Alexander stars as Dr. Simond Trent, a mad man who is trying to create artificial life in his secluded lab in the swamps of Texas. He keeps hos gorgeous wife Pat (Francine York) locked away because she doesn't approve of his work.

Meanwhile back at a lodge called The Fly N' Fish an oil man played by Buchanan regular Bill Thurman is killed by the owners who hope to get rich when they strike oil. Brenda Simmons (Shirley McLine) assumes the role of the oil man's wife in order to fool Barry Rogers (John Agar) a man who is flying down to meet the oil man.

Eventually they all meet and head into the swamp and come upon Trent's house. Trent wants to use Brenda as his next experiment and sure enough he turns her into a monster that immediately kills Trent and falls into an alligator infested pool. End of movie.

I know I'm crazy, but I like Buchanan's films and always have. Yes, this one moves kinds slow as well and most of the acting is just ok, but there is something about this film that just wins me over.

I'm glad to see this get a release even if it's not a Blu-ray. I can easily recommend this to bad film lovers everywhere and if you haven't seen it...well...see it...then again maybe not. Francine York looks sexy as hell and the rest of the cast includes Bill McGhee, Roger Ready, Tony Houston, Annabelle Weenick and beautiful Gayle Johnson.
