COYOTE TRAILS 1935 (SINISTER CINEMA)

A classic example of what appeals to me about 30's "B" westerns.

Tom Tyler stars as Tom Riley, who along with his sidekick Windy (Ben Corbett), are heading for jobs at a cattle ranch.

They learn that a mysterious white horse called "Phantom" is herding horses from the ranch and leading them off somewhere where nobody can find them. Tom does not believe in killing any horse, so he offers the ranch owner a deal.

He will catch the horse and tame him within two days. It is soon learned that the horse has been trained to do the bidding of a man named Larkin ( Richard Alexander) who is stealing the horses and re-selling them.

Tom and Windy finally capture the horse and Tom succeeds in breaking him as they defeat the rustler and all is returned to normal.

This film is a great example of what a western should be. It has plenty of action, gunfights, a handsome hero and his sidekick and much more. These films were churned out by the hundreds during the 20's and 30's during the depression and all were big hits.

Tyler has a good career out of playing the hero in countless westerns, and this is just one of them. I have more to come soon.

If you're a fan of "B" westerns, then this is for you.
