TALES FROM THE TRENCHES 2019 EPISODE 3 COMEDY (SHOUT TV)

A fascinating look at some pretty wild comedy films that came out of the Corman stable.

All of the movies discussed here I have seen except one and most are some of the best comedies ever made.

The first is "BUCKET OF BLOOD" which Corman directed himself and as everyone knows, it is a dark comedy classic about beatnik artists, especially Walter Paisley (Dick Miller) who covers dead bodies in wax and is hailed a genius.

"EAT MY DUST" starring Ron Howard and beautiful Christopher Norris is next. Back when this was released in 1976 I saw this film about 20 times. It's a great car chase film. "SATURDAY THE 14TH" is next and I really found this offbeat film to be a treat.

The next Roger talks about is "LAST RESORT" which I haven't seen and it really doesn't look too good, but when the discussion turns to "HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD" things pick up again. This film is one of my top 10 comedies of all time. I watch it often and it NEVER fails to make me laugh out loud and I am still in love with the late, great Candice Railson.

The final film talked about is "ROCK N' ROLL HIGH SCHOOL" starring the Ramones and P.J. Soles. Everything is perfect with this film and Corman talks about the perfect casting and getting the Ramones as well as blowing up a high school. See, Corman always knows what the audience wants. The best episode so far.
