The actress best known to millions for her role as Emma Peel on the classic "The Avengers" show has died at the age of 82.
Rigg won the hearts and minds of millions for her iconic role as Emma Peel, the daring, sexy and always ass kicking part of the duo along with John Steed (Patrick Macnee).
She made a few movies after she left the show and a couple of the standouts are the 1969 007 film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" as the woman who actually marries the suave Bond, but is killed for her efforts.
Her next classic appearance was in the 1973 shocker entitled "Theater Of Blood" in which she starred along with Vincent Price. She appeared in various British TV shows over the following 3 decades and her last very well known role was as Olenna Tyrell in the show "Game Of Thrones".
Her over 6 decade career has left a great legacy for TV and film fans. She died after a battle with cancer on Sept. 10th, 2020. Fans will forever remember the line from the Avengers in which Steed says "Come Ms. Peel, we're needed".
