BELLS OF SAN ANGELO 1947 (WESTERNMANIA)

A pretty good Roy Rogers western.

In this outing Roy plays a government inspector who joins with a small town sheriff Cookie Bullfincher (Andy Devine) in order to find out who is smuggling silver from the Mexican border.

They are joined by a writer namwed Lee Madison (Dale Evans) and the three of them soon find more trouble than they bargained for. Roy is beaten up by no less than five thgs who have no respect for anything but the valuable metal.

Roy and Cookie finally come up with a way to put an end to the smuggling, but it may cost Lee her life. There is plenty of action, gun fights, songs and much more in this Truecolor western from Republic Studios.

I can't imagine and "B" western fan not seeing this film. Roy Rogers was indeed one of a kind, and his films can still be enjoyed by fans everywhere. I know they are available on DVD, Blu-ray and many PD companies. However, I saw this on a streaming channel and enjoyed it very much.

The rest of the cast includes Hank Patterson, John McGuire, David Sharp and Fritz Leiber. Recommended.
