BOG 1979 (AMAZON PRIME)

Not too bad of a monster movie.

Dynamite awakens a creature in a southern swamp and it promptly starts a killing spree.

Marshall Thompson stars as Dr. Brad Wednesday, a local doctor who is trying to solves sevral unsolved murders of people who have had their blood sucked out of the bodies. He gets an assist from Ginny Glenn (Gloria DeHaven) and the local Sheriff played by Aldo Ray.

The creature comes out at night and kills the unsuspectiong victims and when the viewer finally sees the monster, it will not doubt get some laughs. It is a bizarre looking thing for sure.

There is a witch named Adrianna living in the woods around the swamp and she seems to have a connection with the creature as it never harms her. It's interesting to note that Adrianna is also played by DeHaven.

To me this is a good throwback to monster films of the 50's and 60's. It's fun and the familiar faces are always welcome. Leo Gordon shows up as Dr. John Warren for the last 20 minutes of the film.

I also found it interesting with the romance angle between Wednesday and Glenn. You just don't see that in movies. It seems film makers believe that nobody over 45 has any romance left in them.

This film receives too much bad press. Come on, it isn't that bad. If you haven't seen the movie you might want to check it out.
