THE NIGHT EATS THE WORLD 2018 (AMAZON PRIME)

Not too shabby of a film considering it was made in 2018.

This film was shot in Paris, France and it cvoncerns a young man named Sam (Anders Danielsen Lie) who goes to his girlfriends apartment to collect the rest of his belongings after he has been thrown out. When he arrives there is a huge party going on and in order to escape it Sam has a few drinks and then shuts himself in a back bedroom.

We only hear a short bit of the chaos when zombies break in a kill everyone at the party. Sam wakes up the next morning and finds the apartment all blood splattered and everything scattered about.

He soon realizes that he is alone and that Paris has been destroyed and zombies roam the land. What is unique about these zombies is that they make no noise. Sam slowly gathers food from the other empty apartments while fighting some of the living dead roaming the building.

He even spends his lonely hours talking to a zombie he names Alfred that is trapped in the apartment elevator. This movie delves into a different aspect of a zombie apocalypse...what effect does it have on the human mind of a person who knows he cannot get away from the situation?

Sam meets a young woman named Sarah (Golshifteh Farahani) and even this character is not what the viewer is expecting. I won't give it away. The ending is rather bleak with Sam discovering the ultimate truth about his situation.

There is very little dialogue in this film which is also unique. It moves at a very good pace and I found myself really wrapped up in the story. Several scenes really scared my wife and subsequently made me jump as well.

I would recommend this to any horror fan looking for something slightly different.
