One of the best actors to ever grace the screen is gone. Yaphet Kotto was first introduced to me in my acton films of the 70's including TRUCK TURNER, FRIDAY FOSTER, BRUBAKER and many more, but it was the 1972 James Bond film LIVE AND LET DIE that really caught my attention.
He played the suave and evil Kananga who was always on step ahead of Bond. It, in my opinion is a great film and with his passing all of the Bond villians of the 60's and 70's are now gone.
In 1979 he starred in ALIEN as Parker, the smart mouthed crewman always stuck with doing the dirty work.
He had many TV appearances as well including the unforgettable NIGHT GALLEY episode entitled "THE MESSIAH ON MOTT STREET". His other tv gems included GUNSMOKE, THE NAME OF THE GAME and more.
He passed away on March 14th, 2021 at the age of 81.
