RAG DOLL 1961 (TUBI)

Interesting film noir from director Lance Comfort.

Christina Gregg stars as Carol, a young woman who waits tables at her drunken fathers small diner.

She grows tired of his abuse and his willingness to let his friends have her any way they want. She packs and leaves for London to try and make it on her own.

She finds help in the person of a sideshow fortune teller named Princess (Hermoine Baddeley). Princess has a friend named Wilson (Kenneth Griffith) and he sets her up in a place of her own and gets her a job working for him. Over time Wilson starts having strong feelings for Carol and wants to marry her.

She resists after she meets a handsome young wanna be singer named Shane (Jess Conrad). Wilson wanrs her that Shane is nothing but trouble, however Carol refuses to believe this. Carol gets pregnant from Shane and that's when the trouble really begins.

Shane cannot provide for them so he decides to go to a life of crime. Things do not go well and Shane ends up meeting a demise at the climax of the movie. This film really moves and has a great cast who make everything top notch.

The cast also includes Patrick Magee, Patrick Jordan and Michael Wynne. Christina Gregg is simply beautiful and steals the show as the doomed young woman. This was released in the USA under the title "Young, Willing and Eager.

A small but remarkable movie. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
