PORTLAND EXPOSE 1957 (TUBI)

Great film noir from 1957.

Edward Binns stars as George Madison, a man who owns a small tavern in Portland Oregon. It has been a safe place for he and his wife Clara to raise their children.

Madison soon gets caught up in a war between a local labor union and a gang of mobsters who want control of the union. Madison caves in to the mob, but soon things change when his young daughter named Ruth (Carolyn Craig) is sexually assaulted by a gangster played by Frank Gorshin.

Madison decides to help the local and federal government get evidence on both parties and bring them crashing down. This proves much more dangerous than he ever imagined.

This is really a top notch crime thriller that really moves and never slows down. Gorshin is over the top as Joe, a sick man who has an uncontrollable lust for young girls. We also get beautiful Jeanne Carmen as a "B" girl who blows Madisons cover.

The rest of the cast includes Russ Conway, Joe Flynn, Virginia Gregg, Larry Dobkin and Rusty Lane. When I was looking at this it was really sad to know that Portland was once a beautiful city and now it's a very dangerous cesspool of filth.

I was there a few weeks ago and will never go back unless it's on business.
