CURSE OF THE FACELESS MAN 1958 (MGM)

This 1959 outing concerns a slave killed in 79AD when Pompeii was destroyed by Mount Vesuvius. His body has been encrusted in lava and he is still living after being brought back to complete life by radiation from X rays given to him by the excavating crew. Richard Anderson is the leading man whose girl friend, Tina Enright, played by Elaine Edwards has a psychic connection to the monster. It seems she is the reincarnation of his lost love from 79AD. Directed at a rapid fire pace by Edward L. Cahn, this film is pretty much a bare bones horror movie, and it is very good, at least to me. Today's impatient movie crowd will probably not enjoy this as I did and still do, but that's fine with me. A very likeable little film with a pretty cool monster.
